growth Groups

Growth Groups are an essential part of our church, as they provide a place where deeper fellowship and better support for one another can take place. As the early church worshipped in large settings in the synagogues as well as in homes, we unite together similarly in order to be in deeper fellowship with God and one-another. God has reconciled us not only to Himself but also to each other. This "each other" is called His Church. Thus, we intentionally strive toward community through men's/women's groups, home gatherings, and other personal settings.

"Some Christians try to go to heaven alone, in solitude. But believers are not to be compared to bears or lions or other animals that wander alone. Those who belong to Christ are sheep in this respect, that they love to get together. Sheep go in flocks, and so do God's people." Charles spurgeon

AND LET US CONSIDER HOW WE MAY SPUR ONE ANOTHER ON TOWARD LOVE AND GOOD DEEDS. LET US NOT GIVE UP MEETING TOGETHER, AS SOME ARE IN THE HABIT OF DOING, BUT LET US ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER - AND ALL THE MORE AS YOU SEE THE DAY APPROACHING.

Hebrews 10:24-25

       doing life               together

Discipleship is simply learning to know Jesus Christ personally and following Him. At FPC, we offer a variety of classes where you can learn more about Jesus and the Christian life. We have incorporated virtual meetings where in-person meetings are not possible.

Whether you are seeking answers or digging deep, we hope you will plug in to a group of people who are growing together in Christ.  Groups gather for study, prayer and building one another up in Christ. They are about doing life together.

We also have "Dinner for Eight" groups, which meet once a month for dinner and fellowship, in group-members' homes on a rotation schedule. Singles and couples are both welcome to join "Dinner for Eight' groups when the groups are again shuffled in the Fall.  This is a fun and excellent way to get to know the people of FPC!

The  Chancel Choir is another group  that does life together, meeting on Wednesdays and Sundays to sing praises to God and pray for one another.

The Bible urges us to be in community with one another for spiritual growth.  To join a group please contact, the church office, by phone 354.8439 ext. 111 or email.
